Hello! My name is Olivia Alvarez but most people know me as “Liv”.
I’m an LA based Chef who has been professionally cooking for over 10 years. After high school, I attended the Art Institute of LA to earn my degrees in Culinary Arts and Baking & Pastry. Since graduating Culinary school, I’ve worked in various hotels, country clubs and restaurants all around Los Angeles (including a hotel in Australia).
I became vegan in 2021 due to a decline in my health. It was a rough transition but I eventually got the hang of changing my new diet. I started veganizing all of my favorite foods I missed while I was sick. Creating food had always been a passion of mine so I fell in love with cooking again. My partner and family encouraged me to sell my food so I slowly gained confidence to do so.
Before becoming Fruit Bat, I started under the name Vegan Food by Liv in December 2022.
RIP Vegan Food by liv 2023. Fruit Bat takes flight in 2024.
